Ello you lovely lot.
I've cleaned all the horrendous gunk and filth from my swingarm where I found many dinks, pit marks and some corrosion where i guess the steel washers were against it. I can sand it off but the finish goes from a grey to a shiny silver. Does anybody know how Yamaha got the original finish?
Also, the shock spring is a bit rusty in places and the paint is cracking off. What's the best paint for this? Obviously needs to be very flexible.
Thanks,
Si.

Re: Swingarm and Shock Spring
Hi - I used this for the swinging arm - not original but a nice durable finish
RUST-OLEUM 2114 Hard Hat Topcoat Ral-Colours, The Nr. 1 Industrial Paint Aerosol. Go Further, Work Faster, Last Longer!, White aluminium-RAL 9006
For my shock absorber - I had it powder coated- been done for a year and no issues yet
Good luck - would have posted a pic but swinging arm is dirty!

Re: Swingarm and Shock Spring
Thanks for your reply.
I think I'll get the spring powder coated - I didn't realise the finish was that flexible!
I'm amazed that you painted the swingarm white. Is that an original colour? You've got to post a pic, I don't care how dirty it is, I'd just like to see it in context. Does it get dirty really quickly?
